Although age discrimination regulations are now a reality, a recent survey has found that seven out of ten insurance brokers are ill prepared to implement the laws in their businesses.

A survey of 698 brokers, conducted by employment law firm Peninsula, found that more than two thirds of brokers had not revised human resources practices to take into account the new laws; that three quarters saw no benefit in employing older workers; 60% thought employing staff over 65 would cause problems because
