According to Marsh, the renewal season saw competition-driven reductions in rates for solicitors' professional indemnity insurance for the top 150 law firms in England and Wales. Sandra Neilson Moore of Marsh said that the market continued to be soft with the rates on coverage above the primary layer having decreased by 10-20%, depending on the broker. She added that incumbent insurers were being forced to react to the competition by decreasing rates in order to keep their clients.
