CII: CPD more than box ticking

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has launched a comprehensive review of policy on continuous professional development (CPD) as part of its wider professionalism agenda to raise standards and build trust across the sector.

The CII said the objective of the review was to ensure CPD was directly relevant to members in their jobs, easy to understand, and clearly beneficial to members, employers, and the public, taking into account external developments such as increasing regulation.

The findings of the first ever CII CPD survey of over 3500 CII General Insurance Faculty members provided a fact base to inform the review. It found that CPD was now well embedded, but the survey did highlight ways to improve.
