Con-Dem health and safety review branded 'waste of time'

Steve Thomas Keoghs

Andrew Wigmore, policy director of the Claims Standards Council (CSC) has slammed the Government's health and safety review as a rehash of the Jackson review and a "waste of time, effort and money".

Prime Minister, David Cameron, has appointed Lord Young to investigate current safety laws and the rise in 'compensation culture', which has been blamed for stifling business. He is due to report his findings later this month.

Mr Wigmore denied there had been a growth in compensation culture and said it was a way for the new coalition Government to get the Jackson review, which was shelved following the change in leadership, back on the agenda.
