Chartis' gives private equity policy a makeover

Chartis has enhanced its policy for private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) firms, as it seeks to meet both existing and new threats in the changing economic and regulatory environment.

The insurer said a key risk the policy would now cover was costs resulting from an investigation which it argued had increased in line with more robust post-crisis regulation.

The new Chartis policy includes professional indemnity and directors' and officers' liability, as well as outside director's liability cover. Chartis claimed that blending these insurance covers together removed possible gaps in cover and unnecessary exposure for both the company and individual directors and officers.
