Brightside splits management roles

Brightside director Arron Banks

Brightside Group has decided to split the roles of chief executive officer and finance director citing the “interests of good governance”.

In a statement to the stock exchange the Bristol-based broker confirmed Arron Banks will be appointed CEO while Paul Chase-Gardener will retain the role of FD.

Mr Banks, who owns 17% of the business, founded the group in February 2005 with Mr Chase-Gardener and John Gannon. Previously, Mr Banks was insurance director while Mr Chase-Gardener was FD and CEO.

The news came ahead of the company's annual general meeting and chairman Chris Fay added that trading had been ahead of expectations.
