ABS deadline delayed
The 6 October deadline for licensing alternative business structures (ABS) has been delayed until 2012 Insurance Age’s sister title Post has revealed.
In June this year it was reported that the deadline could be delayed by up to a month and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has previously stated that parliamentary timings and processes had to be taken into consideration which meant the deadline was "out of its hands".
Sources close to the process told Post that these parliamentary processes had not yet been completed and that, combined with the summer recess, this meant the deadline would be extended until 2012.
