Amlin teams up with BJP to launch GP scheme

A NHS doctor working at a computer

Amlin UK, in conjunction with insurance broker BJP, has launched a new scheme dedicated to providing Employers’ and Public Liability (PL) cover to GP surgeries in the UK.

According to the insurer, the scheme can also provide cover under the Employer's Liability (EL) wording for GPs on call. Amlin said the main risk exposure for a surgery was for claims resulting from slips and trips.

According to the health and safety executive, slips and trips are the most common of workplace hazards and make up over a third of all major injuries. Over 10,000 workers suffered serious injury because of a slip or trip last year.
