Brightside posts stable half-year profits

Brightside Group has posted stable post-tax half-year profits of £5.5m compared to £5.6m for the same period last year.

It came as the broker confirmed that it is "seeking to replace" chief executive officer Martyn Holman before the end of the year.

The broker's revenue edged up 4% to £45.3m [H1 2012: £43.6m] while it registered record policy sales of 260,396, up 14% on the 227,610 sold for the same period last year.

Meanwhile, annual policy sales were also up 20% to 234,327 compared to 194,808 last year.

Basic earnings per share decreased by 3% to 1.20p [H1 2012: 1.24p].
