Brokers warned they could be cut out of market

Brokers told if they don’t keep up with how technology is changing the market they will be left behind.

Brokers have been warned that if they do not keep up with how digitalisation and technology is changing the insurance model then they could be cut out of the market.

Simon Burtwell, partner financial services for the consultancy arm of EY, said: "It is something they have to be part of or they will be cut out."

He explained that, due to advances in technology, the insurance model is on the cusp of change and it is something that could fundamentally affect the role of brokers and insurers.
