Product: HSB launches first-of-its-kind energy efficiency cover
HSB Engineering Insurance has launched an energy efficiency offering. The policy, which the provider claimed to be the first of its kind, has been developed to meet the needs of organisations investing in energy-saving technology and the energy service companies working with them.
According to the insurer, around 40% of all the energy consumed comes from buildings and there is an opportunity to cut both emissions and costs by installing energy-saving initiatives, such as LED lighting, thermal window films and more efficient boilers into commercial properties.
The product, available for periods of up to five years, provides cover for material damage including equipment breakdown of the installed systems, business interruption, which entails loss of revenue protection in
