The Association of British Insurers has cancelled the agencies of 30independent, general insurance intermed-iaries. Most of these result-ed
from the intermediaries' failure to submit forms for monitoring their
compliance with the ABI's code of practice. Others had failed to correct
previously ident-ified breaches of the code. Tony Baker, the ABI's deputy
director general, warned that future cancellations could involve the
publication of intermediaries' names.
