I feel very strongly that if the General Insurance Standards Council
is to gain credibility, representatives from all sections of the industry
must be included on the council, and insurers, upon whom all
intermediaries rely in order to fulfil reasonable service standards to
their clients, must be brought into the process of scrutiny and
regulation. The name of the proposed regulator is, of course, the General
Insurance Standards Council - not the General Insurance Intermediaries
Standards Council.
