Insurance brokers have given a "not surprised" response to the newsthat the government will not intervene in the liability crisis.
Patricia Hewitt, Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, said the
government "does not generally interfere in what is essentially a
competitive market" and advised companies experiencing difficulties in
obtaining insurance cover to contact the British Insurance Brokers'
Association.
