Land of hope.

With the implementation of the Environment Protection Act, owners of brownfield sites and those developing the land in line with government housing plans, have very specific insurance needs, says Brian Melville.

In the last 15 years, we have witnessed an unprecedented increase in
the number of urban renovation projects, as in-town living has become
fashionable again and the volume of available greenfield sites has
shrunk.

The best known of these sites, such as the Greenwich Peninsula in London
or the Docklands area of Birmingham, typify the renaissance in our
cities.

A recent government report by Lord Rogers outlined the vital role of
brownfield sites as the greenfield alternative becomes more scarce.
