Motor insurers are achieving a high degree of compliance with the
Association of British Insurers' claims code, according to the first
bench-marking survey of company compliance. Just over 6000 motor claimants
were surveyed by research covering claims made under comprehensive and
third party fire and theft policies against 18 insurance companies,
covering over 90% of the UK motor insurance market. 85% of claimants
expressed overall satisfaction with the claims handling process.
