The Insurance Ombuds-man Bureau has made five appointments to support
principal ombudsman Tony Boorman, who took up this position at the end of
last year.


Peter Hart is appointed associate ombudsman, with Reidy Flynn, Steve
Lilley, Michael Lovegrove and Dorothy Rick-man all being made
ombudsmen.


The appointments are in response to the IOB's burgeoning case load, which
has risen by 65% in the last six months and is expected to increase
further once the European Convention of Human Rights becomes part

FSCS gives first insight on increasing levy to £394m

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has indicated its levy for 2025/26 will rise to £394m from £265m this financial year as it cited having lower surpluses to carry forward and offset bills – a factor that has benefited brokers for two years in a row.
