I disagree with Richard Packman (PB July, p13) and his accusation
that editor Diane Smyth is "a square peg in a round hole" because she did
not use a broker to place her household cover.


Firstly, the analogy used by Packman was not entirely accurate. For
Smyth's situation to be akin to the "Meat-eaters Monthly" analogy she
would have to declare she did not buy insurance at all, which is clearly
not the case.
