Two companies are entering the UK's premium finance market. PremiumFirst has been launched by financial services company Open + Direct, a
wholly owned subsidiary of Northern Irish conglomerate Viridian Group,
while reinsurance broking giant Benfield Greig plans to launch its own
operation by the end of the year.
The market is currently dominated by Premium Credit and Prompt, which
together account for two thirds of all premium finance business.
