Groupama hopes to announce its new owner by the end of the first
quarter, according to group marketing manager Jamie Marchant. The insurer
originally hoped to make the announcement by the end of 2001, having been
put up for sale in July 2001.


Mr Marchant said the company will be sold in two sections, discontinued
business and continuing business. All business up and running when the
insurer was put up for sale is considered continuing business - the
discontinued business was given the death warrant
