Peter Wood has raided Direct Line's senior management and rounded up
former managers from the direct insurer for his new Internet initiative,
esure. It is believed he may have employed over a dozen employees and
former employees of Direct Line.


Mr Wood, who announced his new venture with the Halifax last month,
started his recruitment drive by appointing Peter Graham as chief
executive of esure. He headed up the IT division for motor business at
