The Financial Services Authority is urging brokers to continue submitting applications for authorisation despite the six-month cut-off period of 13 July - beyond which it can not guarantee to process applications - having now elapsed.
By 13 July, the FSA had received 12,710 registrations from the general insurance sector, 6230 of which were from the primary insurance market and 6480 from the secondary insurance market. This led to 8624 applications for authorisation, with 4843 from the primary
