Action plan follows severe flooding

Following extensive flooding across parts of Scotland and northern England, Marsh has outlined actions businesses should take to recover from the emergency.

Last night a major operation was launched to rescue 200 people stranded in the Cumbrian town of Cockermouth and house-to-house searches are now taking place.

Flooding was also reported in Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland and in mid- and north Wales, roads were closed and train services disrupted.
