Brokers warn that lessons not learnt from Independent

On the tenth anniversary of the demise of Independent Insurance brokers have expressed their fears that the insurance industry has not learnt from the insurer’s collapse.

The journey which took Independent Insurance from the darling of the City to liquidation, a Serious Fraud Office investigation and the jailing of staff members, should clearly have left a strong legacy.

However, Lyndon Wood, chairman and chief executive officer at Moorhouse Group, claimed the insurance industry has not learnt a lot from the experience.
