Travelers Insurance pulls out of Irish private motor market

Travelers has announced that it is to exit the Irish private motor market as of 1 October 2011.

The insurer said the decision came as part of a review of its strategy in Europe and stressed that it remained committed to the commercial insurance market in both the UK and Ireland.

Travelers said the decision was driven by the current and prospective dynamics of the private motor marketplace in Ireland as well as a desire to focus the company’s attention and investment on commercial insurance.
