UK General has signed a new schemes deal with Grantham-based insurance broker F&R associates to cover home emergency for oil-fired central heating systems.

The scheme will be sold under F&R's ‘Cover My Business' brand.

John Bibby, director of schemes sales for UK General, claimed around two million households in the UK have oil fired central heating systems.

He commented: "F&R have been working with other insurers on this scheme for 18 months, but it has not been successful, and they have turned to us because we understand the distribution profile, which is wholly through fuel providers, and we are experts at delivering successful niche schemes."
