Barbon raises £10,000 for charity
Martin Oliver, chief executive officer of Barbon Insurance and colleagues met with model Jerry Hall, pictured, at the end of their sponsored sofa carry to raise £10,000 for charity.
Mr Oliver, holding the cheque in the picture, along with Barbon's managing director, Nick Sharp, and six colleagues carried the sofa for 10 miles from homelessness charity, Emmaus in Greenwich, south London, to Lloyd's of London.
According to the property insurance broker the aim was not only to raise money for the charity but also to increase awareness of homelessness issues. The £10,000 raised will be used by the charity to replace its collection van with an emissions compliant vehicle.
