HomeServe axes 200 jobs

Homeserve van at night

HomeServe has announced it is to cut 200 jobs in the UK.

The home repair and insurance firm also said total customer numbers were likely to fall by 8% in 2012 and in turn that renewal revenues for 2013 could fall by £10m.

The firm added that its customer retention rate for 2012 was set to be 80%, down from 82.7% last year.

Last year Homeserve had to retrain its UK call-centre staff following revelations about mis-selling practices.

While mail marketing has resumed along with most inbound sales calls, outbound calls staff are yet to be retrained.
