Persson steps down from WPS chairman role
Richard Persson, chairman of Walker Persson & Spargo (WPS) has stepped down from the role and left the company.
Mr Persson, who co-founded the Plymouth-based broker in 1968, left the company at the end of June 2012.
He has been involved in the insurance industry for over 50 years and is a former president of the Insurance Institute of Plymouth, chairman of the Western Region of the British Insurance Brokers' Association and was a director of the trade body's main board for four years.
During his chairmanship of the company, he assisted in a successful management buy-out by the current owners.
