Chartered status is a differentiator and lets customers and clients know you have a committment to training, development and professionalism, says Steve Jenkins

As the awarding body for chartered status, the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) can expect to receive some flak when flying the flag for broker firms achieving the accolade.

Detractors might claim: “Of course you’d say chartered status is worth having,” but the origin of Corporate Chartered Status lies not with the CII but the most important arbiter of all – the general public.

Brokers’ customers – be they individuals or business owners – expect to receive advice of the highest quality
