Move “unconnected” to suspension of chief executive Paul Asplin.

Legal expenses insurer Das has appointed Andrew Burke as executive director for international business.

He is due to begin the role subject to regulatory approval on 1 January 2015. From then Burke will be responsible for the international business of Das UK.

A spokesman explained that the permanent role is newly created because Das has an increasing amount of international business that it is responsible for in the UK, and requires someone to head up that area.
