Firm’s annual results show decrease in insurance policy numbers.

The AA's Insurance Services division has posted a 7.7% decrease in revenue for the year ended 31 January 2016.

The figures revealed that revenue decreased from £142m in 2015 to £131m in the past 12 months.

The policy count for the business also fell to 2.07m from 2.16m the year before.

According to the firm, this 4.1% decline was due to higher motor premiums which caused customer churn. It also cited a decrease in motor ancillary income but highlighted that it had focused on profitability
