Since Lloyd's opened its doors, provincial brokers have had greater opportunities within the market. Diane Smyth weighs up the different entry methods.

Eddie Cochrane said there were three steps to heaven and, according
to Geoff Crisp, director at Lloyd's service company Fusion, there are
three ways for a provincial broker to access Lloyd's.


"They can go through a service company like us, go through a Lloyd's
broker, which effectively wholesales for Lloyd's, or become an accredited
broker and have direct access to syndicates."


Accessing business via a Lloyd's broker is the traditional and well
established route for provincial brokers. Edinburgh
