Traditionally the domain of the IFA, critical illness cover fits comfortably within a general insurance broker's portfolio, writes Rachel Williams.
Critical illness insurance is usually considered the preserve of theindependent financial adviser. But, as long as the product remains outside
the remit of the Financial Services Authority or any other regulator,
there is no reason why the general insurance broker cannot cash in on the
rapidly expanding CI market.
A CI policy protects clients from the financial consequences of serious
ill health, with a lump sum paid on diagnosis of one of the listed medical
conditions. Plans today cover upwards
