The founders of a broker-owned Lloyd's syndicate have been told they
cannot call their new operation Berkeley as an insurance company already
exists under that name.

Following Professional Broking's exclusive coverage of the new syndicate
and managing agency (PB, March, p1), co-founders George Higginson and
Steven Windich were contacted by Berkeley Insurance Company Ltd.

"We did all the checking we could and had not found any trace of the
company, but we decided it was not worth arguing about,"
