September saw a flurry of acquisition activity in the broker market.

Lloyd's broker Thompson Heath & Bond Group has acquired Rarrigini & Rosso for £11.1m, doubling the size of THB's motor fleet operation to more than £120m gross written premium.

Smart and Cook continued its acquisition programme by buying the general insurance arm of Adams Financial Services, in Lincolnshire, which earns £1m premium income annually. Founders Roger & Moira Adams will now concentrate on their independent financial
