The Association of British Insurers and Lloyd's are negotiating the sale of the Loss Prevention Council (LPC), to the Foundation for the Built Environment (FBE). The decision to sell follows a strategic review of LPC's development and specialist services.

LPC was established in 1986 by the ABI and Lloyd's to carry out research in support of the insurance industry, certify fire security products and carry out accreditation testing. On completion of the sale, it is expected that the LPC Group
