With increasing public dissatisfaction over the National Health Service, opportunities abound in the private medical insurance sector. Michael Evans pours over the facts.

Private medical insurance is already an additional income source for
some of the more switched-on insurance brokers and with the current poor
state of the National Health Service it looks likely there will be even
more opportunities for ancillary PMI sales.


PMI is traditionally low on the agenda for brokers. Many continue to
concentrate their time and effort on general insurance products - their
'bread and butter' income - because they do not understand the PMI market
or how to advise clients on it
