There are profitable opportunities in the coach and minibus market if brokers and insurers work together towards an aim of reducing costs for both them and the client, says Brian Chapman.

The market for coach and bus insurance has never been particularly
large. Even in the softest market there have only been a handful of
composite insurers and Lloyd's syndicates who were interested in working
with brokers to write this area of business. In today's hardening market
this enthusiasm is contracting further.


It is something of a paradox that the rates for coach business have not
yet risen as much as the rest of the commercial motor market. The pressure
