The Financial Services Authority has published a timetable for theregulation of general insurance.
The regulatory body hopes to complete its new rules and guidance in the
second half of 2003, following changes to secondary legislation. The new
legislation should be effective by mid 2004.
The FSA will not start consulting until July 2002, but it plans to publish
a guide for intermediaries in March. Specifically designed for firms not
already authorised by the FSA, the guide should provide a clear
