Towergate Marine has acquired Fortis' yacht and pleasure craft business. Fortis will cease to write such business from 30 June 2001.Fortis has agreed an orderly transfer of business through Towergate Marine, which will offer existing brokers and policyholders the opportunity to renew with Axa on a similar basis. Fortis has decided to focus its attention on its household and commercial accounts.
Axa is keen to build on broker relationships, in order to increase its participation in the market
