Broker mergers, acquisitions and buyouts are predicted to increase asFinancial Services Authority regulation looms, despite the fact that the
cost of buying a brokerage has gone up in the hard market. "There's an
awful lot of interest in buying but not too many want to sell," observes
Grant Ellis, managing director of the Broker Network.
Mr Ellis anticipates that sellers will multiply by the beginning of 2004,
however, when the price of businesses which have not complied with the FSA
will plummet
