Last month, brokers and insurers in the city of London braced
themselves for direct attacks from demonstrators taking part in the
"Carnival Against Capitalism". While 6000 protesters wreaked havoc in the
Square Mile, much of the insurance community based around Leadenhall
Street, escaped the mayhem.


The loosely-organised demonstration was supposedly an attempt to highlight
the evil of multi-national money, but any well-meaning intentions were
quickly lost as skinheads and extremists ran pitched
