of the flurry of new employment legislation.
Measures such as the National Minimum Wage Act 1998, the Working Time
Regulations 1998, and this year's Employment Relations Act give aggrieved
workers more scope to take legal action against employers. In addition,
the unfair dismissal qualifying period has been reduced from two years to
12 months, the ceiling on awards
