Jelf-owned Access Underwriting Agencies was due to lose all 10 of its staff when its ownership was transferred to Somerset-based broker Higos Insurance Services on July 31. The Jelf group sold the existing book of business, including the database of supporting retail brokers of the underwriting agency.

Higos marketing officer Leah Whiting told Professional Broking: "We will not be taking on its (AUA) staff, as part of Higos' ethos is to develop the company in the local area."
