Reading your editorial in the September issue of Professional
Broking, I am moved to reply.


I agree wholeheartedly that it would be far better for this industry to
have one regulator, especially if that regulator could be seen to be
independent, and that all broking businesses should be regulated in the
interest of the consumer.


Why then was the Insurance Brokers' Registration Council abandoned and why
did the insurers not insist that all agents should fall under the auspices
of the IBRC?
