Datamonitor's latest report UK Health Insurance 1999 reveals that
private medical insurance, income replacement, and dental insurance are
losing out to what it describes as "quick fix policies": critical illness
and healthcare cash plans. Datamonitor says this is due to customers
preferring the immediacy of the lump sum payments offered by CI and cash
plan products.


As a result, Datamonitor forecasts growth of 7% a year in the sales of new
