Folgate recruits Charringtons property team for new specialty lines underwriting agency

Folgate have announced that former Charringtons director Adrian Thone and his schemes team of eight have joined Folgate’s newly formed underwriting business, Folgate Underwriting Management Specialty (FUMSL). Thone will become managing director of the new business, which manages a binding authority for personal and commercial lines on behalf of Wellington Underwriting Agencies, the Lloyds managing agency wholly owned by Wellington Underwriting. FUMSL will provide underwriting services for Folgate and other selected brokers.

FUMSL has been operational and writing business from the 1st of January 2004. Folgate aims to write up to £52m gross written premium through this facility in 2004.Folgate executive chairman Peter Cullum commented:
