Blog: Starting gun fired on JMG deal

The question isn’t so much who would want JMG – because frankly who wouldn’t – as what type of deal is coming? Emmanuel Kenning ponders the options.

Last week Insurance Insider revealed JMG Group has appointed Evercore with a deal being eyed up.

While JMG declined to comment when approached by Insurance Age brokers have been speculating with names coming up in the chatter.

I’m not a betting man, but if I had to place a wager it would actually be on something different, a private equity investment, probably to sit alongside Synova, with the JMG management team led by Nick Houghton keen to go again on expansion.

Experts hail proportionate regulation in FCA five-year strategy

The Financial Conduct Authority’s strategic plan for 2025-2030 is “expansive and broad”, but the initial impression is positive, “particularly on the noises the FCA has made around proportionate regulation”, according to Jill Hambley, managing director at Insurance Compliance Services.
