With nearly 3,000 accidental fires in the home every year in the Yorkshire region, specialist insurer Hiscox has joined forces with fire safety charity, the Colvin Fire Prevention Trust (CFPT) to call for better fire safety in country homes across the region.

Hiscox is warning that only a fraction of wealthier homes in Yorkshire have an adequate fire prevention strategy in place. The majority of the homes it surveys for security and safety measures do not have copies of valuable financial
